Times of change are a process of letting go. To let go we must feel our feelings. To give them space to be held and allowed to be heard.


Long held parts of life are often complicated , so first we need to come to terms with the mixture of feelings. The unraveling of old parts is like untying a knotted string. Slow , patient and cautious.


Stepping out of a comfortable routine can be painful. The structure of life keeps us comfortable. Going beyond the comfort zone can increase the defence mechanisms of fight or flight. This creates tension and apprehension.


Fear of stepping in to the unfamiliar can freeze or numb our thinking. It can be difficult to comprehend the way we will fit in to the next phase or adventure.

Sadness around things not being the same any longer can become present. Trying to imagine life without all of the things we like is much like grief. Change is saying goodbye to apart of your life. But not all of your life like it may seem.

Assumptions that the same enjoyment won’t exist often create a feeling of a void. This void is mostly imagined and exists in the mind. Once imagined it becomes an energetic reality.

Attachment to safety and certainty must be relinquished in measured amounts. Let go to quick and it can feel like a free fall

Give names to as many feeling and emotions as you can.

We learn at a young age to feel better about our selves when were are feeling good. Like somehow good feelings are a sign of good character. Self worth and feeling is often linked.

So the reverse is applicable. When we are feeling low, our self worth can dip. This limits our resources and abilities. By inquiring if the uncomfortable emotions are lowering self worth you can act accordingly. Ask “who am I without this?”.

Emotional clarity is important when putting together plans. Plans are often logic based and emotional calm is needed. Once the confusion of conflicting emotions is processed personal truth will emerge. This truth feels hopeful , purposeful and right.

You will know it when it lands.
